GFC 2023

Apply for a fee-waived registration

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Good Food Conference, the world’s most in-depth, cross-sector gathering focused on the power and potential of alternative proteins to fundamentally change food and agriculture.

GFC registration fees are used to offset conference expenses and support the mission of the Good Food Institute, a nonprofit think tank and open-access resource hub powered by philanthropy. A limited number of fee-waived registrations are available for qualifying attendees with restricted conference budgets, such as students, academics, and early-career professionals.

Can’t pay full price? We don’t want cost to be a barrier to your attendance. Consider applying for a waived registration fee.

Available opportunities for fee-waived registrations:

Complimentary in-person registration:

  • Attend the conference September 18–20, 2023 in person at the Fort Mason Center in San Francisco, California.
  • Because we do not offer travel or lodging support, we especially encourage Bay Area residents to apply, and recipients are encouraged to take public transportation.

Complimentary virtual registration:

  • Gain access to the GFC 2023 Virtual Conference platform, September 18–20, 2023 from the comfort of your home or office.

Eligibility:

Applicants for fee-waived registrations should have a professional interest in alternative proteins and limited access to financial resources. Applicants must include a short reflective essay on how attending GFC 2023 would further their professional development, and how their active participation in the alternative protein ecosystem will help transform the global food system.

Judging criteria:

The GFC 2023 fee-waived program’s objective is to increase accessibility to the Good Food Conference. In the spirit of transparency and fairness, the following criteria will be used to assess the applications. Limited funds have been reserved to underwrite these registrations, and the top-scoring applications will be awarded a complimentary registration until these funds have been depleted.

  • Financial need
  • Applicants from underrepresented communities (refers to groups who have been denied access and/or who have suffered past and current institutional discrimination in their home country)
  • Demonstrated interest in, or passion for, alternative proteins
  • Completeness and accuracy of the overall application
