Join us at San Francisco’s historic Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture to kick off the 2023 Good Food Conference—the world’s premier event for innovators, scientists, policymakers, and industry leaders working to accelerate and scale the alternative protein ecosystem. Mix and mingle over cocktails and a creative array of alternative protein hors d’oeuvres.

Alternative protein poster showcase

We cordially invite you to our Poster Showcase, where a diverse range of projects by GFI’s grantees and Alt Protein Project university chapters will be on display. Join us during the Poster Showcase for an opportunity to interact with poster presenters and learn about their innovative research and projects that are advancing the alternative protein ecosystem.

GFI Mentor Program mixer

Date: Wednesday, September 20
Time: 9:30 am – 10:30 am during morning coffee break

The GFI Mentor Program enables entrepreneurs, startups, and investors to have 1:1 mentoring sessions with subject matter experts across the global alternative protein ecosystem. In this meetup, you’ll get the chance to meet some of the GFI Mentors, learn about the program, and ask questions related to alternative protein challenges and opportunities. Note that this meetup is open to everyone attending the conference–you do not need to be an entrepreneur or investor to attend.

Women & non-binary community meet-up

Date: Tuesday, September 19
Time: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm during lunch break
Fee: Complimentary 

Grab food and join us for our first community meet-up, an informal space for women and non-binary individuals working within alternative proteins to meet, bond, share experiences, and make lasting connections with one another. We’ll start with a brief Q&A session with community leader Isha Joshi of Kitchen Town and then break-out into networking.

BIPOC community meet-up

Time: 2:45 pm – 3:30 pm during afternoon coffee break

Join our first community meet-up, an informal space for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) individuals working within alternative proteins to meet, bond, share experiences, and make lasting connections with one another. We’ll start with a brief panel discussion with community leaders, Ian Johnson of Upside Foods, Berenice Vergara of Eat Just, and Isaac Benavides, formerly at Blue Fin Foods, and then break-out into networking.

Queer community meet-up

Time: 2:45 pm – 3:30 pm during afternoon coffee break

GFI invites Queer folks working in the alternative protein field to a Queer community meet-up. Come join a fun, informal space for Queer people working within alternative proteins to meet, bond, share experiences, and make lasting connections with one another. We’ll play a game of bingo to help us get to know one another! You are welcome to grab snacks or a beverage beforehand and bring those with you to the meet-up.

Academic & industry researchers community meet-up
