Dr. Anja Schwenzfeier is currently part of the New Business Incubation unit of Novozymes A/S, where she works on defining new world leading biological solutions with the right industry partners.
Prior to joining Novozymes, Anja spent almost six years working with Unilever in the Netherlands. In different R&D and project managing roles, Anja always focused on delivering more sustainable food products, e.g. by developing natural and plant-based ingredient solutions.
Already during her PhD at the Laboratory of Food Chemistry at Wageningen University in the Netherlands, Anja focussed on understanding the potential of plant-based proteins. She studied the physico-chemical and techno-functional properties of the green microalgae Tetraselmis sp. by first developing the required down-stream process and subsequently describing important biochemical and functional properties of the isolated algae proteins.
Anja holds an MSc and Dipl.-Ing. degree in Food Technology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and the Technical University of Berlin in Germany, respectively.
