Brian co-leads CGC Ventures, making balance sheet co-investments into early-stage food and ag tech companies.
CGC Ventures is part of Continental Grain Company (CGC), a privately held holding company with over two hundred years of experience throughout food and agribusiness, including a long history in grain trading and animal protein. Today, CGC manages a portfolio of diverse investments across a variety of subsectors and asset classes, including partnerships with Arlon and the Boulder Food Group, and co-investments in VC deals and large control opportunities. CGC’s portfolio employs 10,000 people across the U.S., China and Latin America, and includes majority ownership of Wayne Farms, the 5th biggest poultry company in the U.S. Before joining Conti, Brian was in the FIG Investment Banking Group at J.P. Morgan and received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Yale. Currently, Brian sits on the boards of four CGC Ventures portfolio companies.
