Kris Chatrathi
Dr. Chatrathi has provided engineering designs for bio-processing, FDA-regulated processes and facilities, petroleum refining, chemical processing, and explosion protection solutions for a variety of industries.
He has been responsible for the conceptual, detailed and final design of facilities with capital expenditures in the range of $10 MM to $350+ MM. The process designs encompassed microbial and cell culture bio-reactors up to 15,000L in volume, 200,000+ gallon industrial fermenters, glass-lined reactors, centrifugation, cross-flow filtration, chromatography, evaporation, drying and all associated process and process utilities unit operations. Bio-reactor experience includes standard CSTR, bubble column reactors and proprietary continuous fermenters.
Other areas of expertise include: process technology evaluation, process simulation and throughput maximization, techno-economic feasibility analysis of newly developed processes, transfer of processes from development to full scale production, environmental impact and process waste, process heat transfer, and BSL-3 and BSL-2 facilities.
